Why write?

Really, why?

Writing well is hardwork. I want to write well the first time, but I don't. Spelling isn't my forte. But I'm not really talking about spelling.

I want to write.

I want to write a compelling story.

But wanting to write and writing aren't the same.

Sometimes I think I should just be a professional crit partner and contest judge. Or maybe a book doctor. An editor would be fine, too. Then the hardwork of writing is already done. All I'd have to do is polish, tweak, nip and tuck. I could be the writer's version of a plastic surgeon.

Writing is hard work.

Why does it have to be hard?

And if it's not hardwork, then how good is it anyway? Should I be satisfied with a McDonald's hamburger when I really want an Outback steak? Look at how many burgers McDonald's sells. Look! No, they're not overly healthy. No, they only impress children. But they sell, and they are cheap to buy and don't take as long to purchase.

*sigh*

I really like steak. Medium. Lightly seasoned.

Maybe I'll have a bowl of cereal for dinner.

What a day!

I love school.

Let me reiterate: I LOVE SCHOOL!

My house was quiet for hours and hours. I almost forgot I still had one kid at home. She's practically perfect. She'd be perfect, but she's succeptible (sp?) to her youngest brother's influence. He happily taught her to say "shut up."

But now he's in school and only Dora and Blue can corrupt her...until 3 pm, and then he comes home and she's terrorized again.

On the writing front, I tweaking chapter 9. I couldn't figure out how to justify an action/event by a minor minor character, so I prayed about it (I'm not one to do that usually) and got an answer. Just cut the action/event and move to later. Duh. Sometimes I'm so dense.

I also got a request for a partial.

Kinda cool.

Now I better give my first 75 pages a quick read-through before I send it off tomorrow.

I love school!

School starts tomorrow, and I'm sooooooo excited.

My life will finally have some order.

Goodbye, chaos.

One more day to freedom!

My three babies start school Tuesday. Okay, they're not physically babies anymore, but they will always be my babies.

It'll just be me and Rhyinn. Rhyinn and me. Table for two, please.

Rhyinn is two, going on twenty. Her oldest brother taught her to count to ten. She's now learning to sing with Barbie's Princess and Pauper dolls.

Sometime I wish my babies wouldn't grow up. Then I smell a poopy diaper.

For everything there is a season.

I'll have some cinnamon, please.

And a table for two.
