WHAT:: Start prepping your entry now for Romance Divas' Best or Needs-Help Snippet. Entry can be five pages from ANYWHERE in your ms. If entry exceeds a PG rating (ie because it's a sex scene), then enter it in our Steamy category.
WHO:: Any Romance Diva
COST:: Free (or a Starbucks gift card sent to me, just don't tell Jax)
WHEN:: Submission begins March 20th and ends April 2nd. Contest runs from April 3rd to April 16th.
WHERE:: Diva's Workshop and Steamy Section
PRIZE:: One diva entrant drawn randomly will receive a nice prize. For every three entries judged, judges will be entered to win a new-definition-of-utter-snazziness gift basket. (I wonder if Katgirl has any suggestions for prizes. Hmmm...)
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:: Five manuscript pages, single-spaced, no indentions, double space between paragraphs. Must include [ i ] [ /i ] (minus extra spaces) for italics or [ u ] [ /u ] for underlining. PM me your entry or email attachment it to me (gina@romancedivas.com). Don't forget your statistics: TITLE, genre/sub-genre, total ms word count, and target publisher. Entrants may also include a one or two paragraph Author's Note setting up the scene.
WARNING:: Any entry not properly formatted will be sent back to entrant for proper formatting. In the Diva's Workshop category, any language stronger than damn or hell needs to be censored. Ex, sh**, f***.
SCORESHEET:: No scoring. ONLY FEEDBACK. Judges will be asked two simple questions and must give specific examples of why they felt the particular thing was a strength or a weakness.
