I am finally Touched by Love organized.
Last night I typed up on an Excel spreadsheet the long contemporary entrants and on another sheet the short contemporary entrants.
Also I have all the payments (checks and paypal forms), all the return SASEs, and all the entry forms together. Plus I have them in three envelopes:
Short contemporary entries
Long contemporary entries
Payment forms and entry fees (checks)
And all my e-subbed entries are divided up into separate files. I'm oooozing with organization. Well, for me, I'm organized. My hubby would say I'm managing. No offense taken. I'd love to be organized like him...actually, I wouldn't. I've tried to be and gotten overwhelmed. Microsoft Outlook? Forget it. I hate the thing.
I'm thinking about entering the Orange Rose (or something like that). Two editors are final round judges, although the website doesn't list who the final round judges are. Cost is $30 an entry so if I enter, I'll only enter one story. If I enter.
I know my agent can get my ms in front of an editor, but I'm also wondering how much finaling in a contest helps. How beneficial is it? Can it be considered "credentials"?
And why do my kids enjoy pouring water over their heads yet don't like it when their sibling pours water over their heads? "What goes around comes around" doesn't seem to work with my kids. But at least the baby is wearing a bathing suit today instead of her birthday suit.
Gee. Now that I think about it. Could my allowing the 1-yr-old to play naked in a tub of water be considered aiding and abedding (sp?) a child porn addict?
Hmm.

Another boring day in the life of Me
I'm still working on my judging grid for the Touched by Love contest. The entries are slowly coming in.
I also have one more Genesis entry to judge tonight.
Guess I really ought to take the kids to Starbucks becuase I've been promising since Sunday. Although I did tell them they had to be good. Isn't it nice that goodness is relative?
Gee, I don't think I've blurbed about my research of Julia Quinn novels. I'll try to get to that later today or tomorrow. First I must eat some breakfast...umm, lunch. Now that I see the time, I realize I missed breakfast.

Rita and GH finalists 2008
Am I so out of the loop?
Is there a loop?
Why is it I don't recognize the names of 95% of the 2008 Golden Heart and Rita inspirational finalists.
My commiseration goes out to the brilliant inspirational authors who didn't final but deservingly should have.
My congratuations go to the authors who did final. Guess I ought to go google you all to figure out who you are and what your novels are about.
Gee, I feel out of the loop.

I'm not really goofing off
Seriously.
The deadline for the Touched by Love contest is Monday, April 1st, so I've been working on sending e-mail confirmations to entrants and putting entries in order.
Tonight or tomorrow I have to make a judging grid.
I have two categories: long and short contemporary.
So if you know an unpublished author who writes inspirational romances, pass on the information about the contest.
:-)
