I haven't intentionally been avoiding blogging. Really. Well, actually I have because I've been busy working on other stuff.
See, I got this idea last Friday to write a novel to target to Heartsong. So I've been doing lots and lots and lots of research. I love researching. Once I got to the point of getting a feel for the time period (1900 New England, USA), I worked on fleshing out the basic back-cover blurbs of each book in the series.
I've also been trying to finish up some contest entries. Five TBL historicals to go. One last Fool for Love to go. And then there are my published books for a contest, but those scoresheets aren't due back until July 1st. Of course, I have 8 of the 17 books read and judged. Yay, me!
Oh, on Friday of last week, I learned my Victorian inspirational romance finaled in the Duel on the Delta contest. I put my revised copy in the mail today. 6 day before it was due back. Maybe later this summer I'll do a blog post on the good and stupid things my first round judge said. Still, I'm not so pig-headed that I ignored the stupid things. I found something useful to make my entry stronger. So even a stupid comment has a point. You just have to find it.
Then this morning I got a phone call that my Civil War story finaled in the inspy category of the Daphne du Maurier. Too cool!
Which brings me back to my original comment. My agent loves my series proposal for Heartsong and is working her hiney off to sell it to them. Maybe later this summer I'll blog about all the places I can see God nudging me. Even if Heartsong doesn't buy it, I fully intend to write the books and submit them to other CBA publishers. Of course, I'll have to add a sub-plot or two.
Still, I hope Heartsong will love the series idea too.
Finally, I bought two new craft of writing books.
The Moral Premise: Harnessing Virtue & Vice for Box Office Success
by Stanley D Williams; Paperback
Getting Into Character: Seven Secrets a Novelist Can Learn From Actors"
by Brandilyn Collins; Paperback
And the best news of all, after 2 weeks in Armenia and Israel, my hubby came home. Yes!!!!

Judy Duarte--Kensington author
Two months ago when I was doing research for a speech I had to give to my local ACFW chapters, I met an amazing writer.
Judy Duarte.
Her newest release comes out next month.
After I do a review of her RITA-inspirational category finaling book, MULBERRY PARK, I'll share an interview of Judy. But in the meantime, if you'd like to get to know this fascinating writer, check out the Seekerville blog today.

Monday Not-so-Nonsense
More and more RWA contests are asking for a synopsis. Fortunately, most ofthose don't judge the synopsis. So what's the point of sending in asynopsis when it's optional and unjudged?
I'm blogging today over at Seekerville on the answer to that question.
